The Left...They Want a Powerful State...Well, Here It Is': Rush Limbaugh Blames Eric Garner's Death on 'Tax Collection
December 07, 2014
"An American died while the state is enforcing tax collection on cigarettes!"
As Ben Franklin is said to have quipped, two things in life are certain: death and taxes.
Sometimes, those two certainties are intertwined.
On Sunday morning, Rush Limbaugh appeared on "Fox News Sunday" to offer his take on the much-discussed issues of police violence and race in America.
His take: the chokehold death of Eric Garner is, in part, the fault of liberals who are “so eager for tax collection.”
Here's what Limbaugh had to say about Garner's case:
How many cops descended on that situation for cigarettes? How many people smoking marijuana did the cops ignore on the way to Eric Garner?…I think the real outrage here is an American died while the state is enforcing tax collection on cigarettes! It’s absurd. People talk about the left, they want a big state, they want a powerful state. Well, here it is.
