Woman in Trouble With the Law After Mailing Cow Poop to Her Neighbors

"I was given a website that I thought was anonymous."

Iowa resident Kimberly Capdevila, 51, has been cited with third-degree harassment for mailing cow poop to her neighbors. Though she claims it was a practical joke, her neighbors and the police believe otherwise.

According to KCCI8 News, Steve Rowland and Mary Eipert immediately suspected Capdevila because of a longstanding dispute over her dog, which they have complained about.

Capdevila said she believed the service she used would guarantee her anonymity, but she was mistaken.

"I was given a website that I thought was anonymous. I thought it would be a funny thing to do, to send it to my neighbors," she said. "I am sorry if they took offense to it. If they took offense, I apologize. I never intended to harass them. I look forward to having my day in court."

Court documents have more information: "On Dec. 13, Rowland received a package in the mail from poopsenders.com. Inside the package was a substance that was identified as animal feces. On Dec. 29, (officers) spoke with Kimberly Capdevila, who stated she had the package sent to the Rowlands because of the ongoing problems between the two families."

The website reportedly states that it will deliver cow, elephant and gorilla feces, but says the customer must agree that it is a "gag gift, [or] novelty service for entertainment only."
