A waitress served a man hot dogs on Sunday and received a very generous $36 tip. But she didn’t realize the significance of the number until she flipped over the receipt.
On the back of the receipt, the customer wrote:
Today is my brother’s b-day. He would have been 36 today. Every year I go eat his favorite meal (hot dogs) and tip the waitress his age. Happy B-Day Wes.
Moved by the act, the waitress then posted a photo of the message on social media.
“This guy sat in my section tonight & left a note on the back of his receipt,” she wrote. The identity of the waitress or name of the restaurant were not immediately known.
The image has since been shared thousands of times across various social media platforms. Take a look at the hand-written note below:
