Authorities Parade 'El Chapo' in Front of Media, but It's Where He's Being Sent That's Getting Attention
January 08, 2016
Authorities in Mexico paraded notorious drug lord Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman in front of media cameras Friday night — but it's where the captured fugitive is being taken that's getting attention.
According to Mexican Attorney General Ariely Gomez, Guzman was being sent to Altiplano — the exact maximum-security prison he escaped from last July.
The announcement from Gomez came at Mexico City's airport where Guzman was forced to pose for pictures while being escorted to a military helicopter which would fly him to the prison.

Guzman was captured by Mexican marines early Friday in a coastal city, and the attorney general says the drug boss was tracked down partly because he was making a biographical movie.
