Wright, a British makeup artist, visited a doctor last November after experiencing severe pain in her side. After tests revealed her hormone levels to be comparable to those associated with pregnancy, the doctor sent Wright to the maternity ward, according to her family.

But as the months went by and the pain in her side did not ease up, doctors at Addenbrooke Hospital in Cambridge ran further tests and in February found that Wright was not pregnant after all.

The 22-year-old actually had a rare form of cancer called adenocarcinoma. Doctors informed Wright and her family about the aggressive disease, which affects multiple organs, and diagnosed her as terminal. Wright died on Feb. 23.

The young woman’s parents, Chris and Roz Wright, described their daughter as “bubbly, positive and cheerful,” according to the Independent.

"We feel robbed," Wright's boyfriend, Mitch Gregory, told the Colchester Gazette. "She didn't have a bad bone in her body. She had an infectious, beautiful smile and it showed her personality off. It’s been devastating.”
