19-Year-Old Man Arrested After Allegedly Trying to Disarm Police Officer at Las Vegas Trump Rally

Here's what we know.

A 19-year-old man was arrested and handed over to the U.S. Secret Service after he allegedly attempted to disarm a police officer at a Donald Trump rally in Las Vegas on Saturday.

The suspect, identified as Michael Sandford, reportedly walked up to a uniformed officer and claimed he was trying to get an autograph, police said. During the conversation, Sandford allegedly tried to take the officer’s gun without warning.

Officers quickly detained the man without incident. He is now in the custody of the Secret Service and will face criminal charges, KVVU-TV reported.

Police didn’t speculate as to the suspect’s motive or release a mugshot.

During his Las Vegas rally, Trump defiantly threatened to revert back to mostly self-funding his campaign if Republicans didn't unite to support him in the 2016 election.

The billionaire businessman also threatened that, if Republicans don't come together, he was prepared to stop fundraising and go back to largely self-funding his campaign.

"I'd love to do it," he said. "You know, life is like a two-way street."
