Ben Shapiro Clashes With Sally Kohn Over Race, 'Sexism' During Live Politicon Debate
June 29, 2016
"Do you think that there’s sexism in America?"
Conservative commentator Ben Shapiro battled with liberal CNN contributor Sally Kohn during a recent debate at Politicon in Washington D.C.
Predictably, the discussion soon turned to race with Kohn asking Shapiro if he thinks it’s easier to be a black man than a white man in America.
Shapiro argued the issue is more complex than black vs. white and said, “I think it depends on where you're born.”
Kohn had a follow-up question ready, though.
“Do you think that there’s sexism in America?” she asked.
“I think there are sexists in America,” Shapiro.
“No, is there sexism?” Kohn pressed.
“There are sexists who perform sexist acts,” he replied. “If you’re asking if America is structurally sexist, the answer is no.”
Shapiro received a strong round of applause from the crowd for the declaration.
