Steve Harvey: 'So many of my so-called friends have eaten me alive' for meeting with Trump
February 24, 2017
TV host Steve Harvey said he's received an angry earful from his "so-called friends" after he met with Republican President Donald Trump before the inauguration.
"So many of my so-called friends have just eaten me alive for going to meet with the president of the United States," Harvey said on his show Wednesday while speaking to comedian Mike Epps.
Harvey added that the outrage has been "mind-boggling to me, because if you understood what I was up there meeting about, you'd probably be quiet. But since you don't, you just comment about it — you don't understand."
After the Jan. 13 meeting, Harvey said he and Trump met about improving inner cities: "I walked away feeling like I had just talked with a man who genuinely wants to make a difference in this area. I feel that something really great could come out of this."
Harvey and Epps shared a laugh on the show, however, over Epps' video in which he joked that Harvey's meeting with Trump was about buying the White House.
