The Washington Press Club Foundation held their Annual Congressional Dinner Wednesday night, where media members and lawmakers join together for a night of what is supposed to include comedic speeches and light-hearted fun.
But according to Independent Journal Review's Benny Johnson, who was in attendance, one Democratic lawmaker took it too far when he made a derogatory remark about White House senior counselor Kellyanne Conway and the "controversy" surrounding the picture of her on the Oval Office couch crouching on her knees.
Rep. Cedric Richmond (D-La.) took a sexually explicit shot at Conway during his speech at the event, as related by Johnson:
This is an exact quote from congressman @CedricRichmond: "Y'all seen that photo of Kellyanne on couch? She looks familiar in that position." pic.twitter.com/drMybx6ruk

Congressman @CedricRichmond just made a deeply inappropriate joke about @KellyannePolls. Honestly, room full of liberals, everyone groaned

FOR THE RECORD: The congressman may have said "comfortable" instead of "familiar."
Recording will sho. Not sure which is worse. https://t.co/5FS8uXYO2w

A video of the event confirms Richmond using the word "familiar" as he said to Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.), "What was going on there. ... I won't tell anybody. And you can just explain to me that circumstance, because she really looked kind of familiar in that position."
"Don't answer, and I don't want you to refer back to the '90s," Richmond added.
Richmond currently serves as the chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus. His office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
