A new poll from Fox News shows that support for special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation has dropped, but that’s not the end of the story.

Here’s what the poll says

According to the new poll, support for the investigation into Russian election interference and alleged collusion with the Trump campaign has dropped from more than a majority (55 percent) to just under a majority (48 percent) from last month.

The Hill reported that the drop in support comes entirely from Democrats, with 84 percent supporting the probe last month, but only 72 percent supporting it in the new poll numbers.

However, despite support for the investigation dropping, a majority of 55 percent still believes that it should be allowed to continue until it’s properly concluded.

“Rigged Witch Hunt”

President Donald Trump has strongly condemned the investigation as a “witch hunt” and claimed that it was begun because of political motivations.

“Public opinion has turned strongly against the Rigged Witch Hunt and the “Special” Counsel because the public understands that there was no Collusion with Russia (so ridiculous),” he tweeted, “that the two FBI lovers were a fraud against our Nation & that the only Collusion was with the Dems!”

In May, a CBS poll showed that a majority of Americans, 53 percent, saw the investigation as “politically motivated,” and only 44 percent said that the investigation was “justified.”
