An Associated Press tweet linking to a story that trumpets the diversity of the Federal Reserve has been derided on social media.
"Leadership at the Federal Reserve has become its most diverse ever. There are more female, Black and gay officials contributing to the central bank's interest-rate decisions than at any time in its 109-year history," the AP tweeted.
Americans have been getting soaked by soaring inflation, and the Fed has been raising interest rates in a bid to bring inflation down.
"Well, they're doing a bang-up job," editor emeritus of the Daily Wire Ben Shapiro tweeted about the Fed in response to the AP's post. "'Sure, inflation is at a 40-year-high, but doesn't it make you feel better that those in charge are sexually and ethnically diverse?' -- Stupid people," he added.
"Inflation is the worst it's been in decades while the Federal Reserve is the most diverse it has ever been. This... is not an argument in favor of more diversity," Matt Walsh of the Daily Wire tweeted.
"All people want is that the people who make the dumpster fire be diverse," tweeted Frank J. Fleming, who indicates that he is a "Scripted Creator" for the Daily Wire.
"Thank goodness we have a diverse group of people running the economy into the ground!" Ohio state Rep. Mike Loychik tweeted.
"Perhaps the Fed should care more about the disaster that is the U.S. economy and far, far less about having "more female, Black and gay officials" at the helm?" tweeted Mollie Hemingway, editor in chief of the Federalist.
"Why, when everything is going quite terribly, does the liberal media love to say 'Look we’re diverse!' Diversity is a stupid goal. Effectiveness & competence are good goals. The fed’s lack of action for a year helped lead us to a 40 year inflation high. Diversity didn’t help," tweeted T.J. Moe, who indicates that he is a contributor on BlazeTV's "Fearless with Jason Whitlock."
