'The most vigorous man': Biden admin. mocked by 'Saturday Night Live' for insisting president has unmatched stamina

NBC's "Saturday Night Live" may have finally turned on President Biden, mocking the 81-year-old's administration for consistently pushing a narrative that he is not only mentally and physically fit, but he is more so than most people his age.

The sketch-comedy show had its usual cold-open segment, beginning the episode with a mock CNN broadcast featuring the network's anchor Dana Bash, played by Heidi Gardner.

The skit bounced around with Bash throwing to different Biden administration members and supporters, who each displayed an over-the-top level of support for Biden's cognitive ability, backed with unbelievable stories.

First, an impression of California Gov. Gavin Newsom (Michael Longfellow) explained that he had a "big meeting about the border, and [Biden] had such command. He had charts, tables, PowerPoints, he had an interactive AR display on the Apple Vision Pro that he programmed himself. The software might be in beta, but the man is an alpha."

The real Newsom had said just days earlier that Biden's success was due in part to his age, and that four more years of Biden would be "a gift" to the American people.

The show then threw to Ego Nwodim playing White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, who listed off the rigorous schedule of the president, proving how physically fit he was.

The faux itinerary included a 7 a.m. "SoulCycle class" followed by "Speed Chess in the Park."

This was proceeded by a 9:30 a.m. "Joint Chiefs Meeting/Push-Up Contest" before having an hour of "Train Time" to close out the morning.

In reality, Jean-Pierre has indeed repeatedly defended the president's cognitive abilities, famously saying that Biden has a "grueling schedule that he keeps up with."

In addition to actor Devon Walker portraying an NBA player who claimed President Biden dunked on him and even grabbed "a dollar off the back of the backboard and [left] some change," the show also poked fun at Department of Homeland Security secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

Mayorkas, played by Marcello Hernández, said that Biden "went into 'Beast Mode,'" before he "parkoured up to the top of the border wall, front-flipped into the Rio Grande, and came back up with a fish in his mouth."

CNN's actual Dana Bash asked the real-life Mayorkas about the very same skit, to which the DHS leader responded in-line with his comedy counterparts.

"Do you want to have a real statement about it, about what you witnessed?" Bash asked Mayorkas about his time with the president at the U.S.-Mexico border.

"They should spend a bit of time with Joe Biden like I have done," Mayorkas said about the comedic actors. "I prepare a lot for meetings with [Biden] and engagements with him because he is remarkably detail-oriented, probing, and operationally-focused."

The NBC show has made consistent headlines in 2024, from their reunion with comedian Shane Gillis, to employing actress Sydney Sweeney as the host, who has previously defended wearing Donald Trump merchandise alongside family members who wore "Blue Lives Matter" shirts.
