Republican Rep. Cory Mills helps evacuate Americans from Israel

Republican Rep. Cory Mills of Florida has helped evacuate Americans from the nation of Israel, which is currently at war after Hamas terrorists launched heinous attacks against the Jewish state.

"Since the Biden admin has failed to do their job once again, I've stepped in to rescue Americans stranded in war-torn Israel," a post on the lawmaker's "@RepMillsPress" X account states. "While this admin has a record of leaving Americans behind, I refuse to be a part of their reckless inaction."

The Floridian reported that Mills indicated that he had been able to rescue 32 Americans, though there remain "hundreds trapped" there.

Todd Cox, who indicates on X that he is a "Church Planter/Missionary/Pastor," is calling the congressman a hero.

"We made it out of Israel safely because of a true American Hero - US REPRESENTATIVE CORY MILLS @CoryMillsFL being used as God’s instrument and rescue for us. We are safe in Jordan right now and will fly out tomorrow night!" Cox tweeted.

GOP Rep. Andy Biggs of Arizona has also hailed Mills as a hero.

"Several constituents from AZ-05 were stranded in Israel when Hamas's brutality unfolded. @RepMillsPress has been more effective than anyone in the Biden Administration in getting people home. In fact, he is picking up another one of our families tomorrow. He is a hero!" Biggs tweeted.

Blaze Media employee Ashton DeGroot's husband and brother-in-law are among the Americans currently stranded in Israel, and the two men have been posting video updates on YouTube.

Hamas terrorists have committed horrific atrocities, such as the brutal slaughter of civilians, including children. "Hamas terrorists bound, burned and executed children. They are savages," Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said.

"We know that so far, 22 Americans lost their lives and 17 remain unaccounted for. We know that these numbers are likely to increase in the days ahead," White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said on Wednesday.

Mills previously helped evacuate Americans from Afghanistan during the badly botched U.S. withdrawal from that country.

"I was part of the team that conducted the first successful overland rescue mission of Americans from Afghanistan after the withdrawal of U.S. troops," Mills wrote in an opinion piece published earlier this year. "Against all odds, our team saved four American citizens – a woman named Mariam and her three children – even with the Biden administration working against our efforts."
