Actress and TV host Drew Barrymore got on her knees in front of transgender activist Dylan Mulvaney during their Monday interview after Mulvaney spoke about "hatred" toward the "trans community" — and soon the pair were hugging as Barrymore's audience applauded.

Mulvaney has been in the news quite a bit of late, and one of the activist's biggest coups was landing a trans rights interview last year with President Joe Biden, during which Mulvaney — a biological male — told Biden, "Mr. President, this is my 221st day of publicly transitioning."

Since then Mulvaney has also received a great deal of attention after getting "feminization surgery."

During Barrymore's interview with Mulvaney, the host asked how Mulvaney deals with "negativity."

“There’s so much hatred directed at the trans community right now, it’s everywhere, and I think the greatest weapon that I can contribute is trans joy, and comedy, and talking about hard subjects and really intricate moments of a transition and try to let everybody in to see that I’m not a monster, I’m not somebody that ... is trying to do anything but be myself and be happy," the activist said.

The crowd applauded, and Barrymore was visibly touched and reacted by saying, "Thank you, everybody, for that support." Soon she asked Mulvaney about drawing boundaries and ways the trans activist manages to "keep being the joy."

"Well, I think having my chosen family, and the people that I love to take care of me ... and really just surrounding yourself with good people," Mulvaney replied.

Barrymore then reached out and began holding Mulvaney's hand.

“It’s interesting 'cause I look at someone like you, and I can’t imagine anybody disliking you,” Mulvaney told Barrymore, who then got on her knees in front her guest and confessed, “Oh please. Do you wanna know, ironically, who dislikes me the most sometimes? Myself.”

"Me too," Mulvaney responded — and then the pair were on their knees hugging as the audience applauded.

Their chat then continued with both of them sitting on the floor.
