Eric Trump said that an employee at a high-end lounge in Chicago, Illinois, spit on him on Tuesday night.
What are the details?
Trump said that the person who reportedly spit on him "clearly has emotional problems."
He told Breitbart, "It was purely a disgusting act by somebody who clearly has emotional problems. For a party that preaches tolerance, this once again demonstrates that [Democrats] have very little civility. When somebody is sick enough to resort to spitting on someone, it just emphasizes a sickness and desperation and the fact that we're winning."
The alleged incident reportedly took place at the Aviary in Chicago's West Loop.
According to a reporter at WMAQ-TV, the U.S. Secrete Service took a woman into custody in connection with the incident. It is not clear at the time of this writing as to whether the woman is facing charges, or if the woman in question is even a suspect in the incident.
Anthony Guglielmi with the Chicago Police Department said that officers arrived on the scene to help with the investigation into the incident.
On Twitter, he wrote, "CPD was on scene and assisting the United States Secret Service with a law enforcement matter. Any and all inquiries regarding a federal protectee must be directed to the Secret Service."
