Tucker Carlson rips into Fox News over 'wannabe dictator' debacle and garners millions of views in latest Twitter episode

Tucker Carlson aimed his rhetorical missives squarely at Fox News after controversy erupted over an insult made in a chyron against Democratic President Joe Biden.

Carlson made the comments on the fourth episode of his "Tucker on Twitter" show on Thursday.

The cable network faced criticism after it aired a chyron calling Biden a "wannabe dictator." It later said that the issue had been addressed after the producer responsible resigned.

"Those words were up for less than 30 seconds, but the effect was immediate," said Carlson on his show.

"Inside Fox, the women who run the network panicked. First, they scolded the producer who put the banner on the screen. Less than 24 hours after that, he resigned," he explained.

"He'd been at Fox for more than a decade," Carlson continued. "He was considered one of the most capable people in the building. He offered to stay for the customary two weeks, but Fox told him to clear out his desk and leave immediately. Then the company issued a public apology for the 27-second-long 'wannabe dictator' line."

He went on to sarcastically declare the many instances that the Biden administration had indeed exhibited the characteristics of a wannabe dictatorship.

"Of course Joe Biden is not a wannabe dictator!" said Carlson after a laugh. "Just because he's trying to put the other candidate in prison for the rest of his life for a crime he himself committed, doesn't mean he has a totalitarian impulse, c'mon, that's absurd! It takes a lot more than jailing your political rivals to earn the title 'wannabe dictator'!"

He compared Biden to other dictators and ran through the many scandals involving his presidency, including the computer laptop of his beleaguered son Hunter Biden and his allegedly corrupt dealings with Ukrainian energy company.

Carlson's video garnered over 21 million views in just about 24 hours after he posted his latest episode.

Carlson began posting his commentary videos on Twitter after he parted ways with Fox News in April. He has since accused his former cable news network home of fraud and breach of contract over the circumstances of his departure.
