On yesterday's "Pure Opelka," Mike Opelka detected a bit of "pageant speak" in the new Miss USA's response for the interview portion of the nationwide pageant.
Many conservatives and angry liberals believed that winner Kára McCullough was espousing small government views when she said "I’m definitely going to say [health care is] a privilege. As a government employee, I am granted health care and I see first-hand that for one to have health care, you have to have jobs.”
She has since clarified on Good Morning America, stating "I am privileged to have health care and I do believe that it should be a right. I just want people to see where I was coming from. Having a job, I have to look at health care like it is a privilege."
To see more from Mike, visit his channel on TheBlaze and listen live to “Pure Opelka” weekdays 7–10 p.m. ET & Saturdays 6–9 a.m. ET, only on TheBlaze Radio Network.
