Why are people who condemn Nazism so reluctant to see that communism has also been devastating to people throughout history?
Socialist policies have resulted in starvation and death, yet liberal intellectuals rarely condemn communism as “barbaric” and “murderous,” which is what it is, Yaron Brook noted on this week’s episode of “The Yaron Brook Show.”
He pointed to Rolling Stone contributor Jesse Myerson, who asked during the 2016 campaign why Bernie Sanders wasn’t running on a “truly socialist” presidential platform. Hollywood liberals like Sean Penn and Antonio Banderas have praised Hugo Chavez, the Venezuelan president whose socialist policies helped ruin a formerly wealthy nation.
“It doesn’t matter [to them] how many people communism killed,” Yaron said of people who continue to praise socialist revolutionaries. “It doesn’t matter how many people die of starvation because of socialism. It doesn’t matter how many babies don’t have enough food in Venezuela and they’re dying. They will still back their hero Chavez and their hero Maduro.”
