Life can be confusing
Check your principles! Sometimes, life can be confusing. You see, when Obama was president, conservatives rallied and banded together to resist the socialist train America boarded initially in 2008 and again in 2012.
But something happened when Donald Trump entered the presidential race. Beating all odds, Trump became the Republican nominee and eventually secured his place in the White House as president of the United States.
At the time, there was a split in the Republican Party that continues to this day. While some conservatives acknowledge how wrong we were to doubt Trump's ability to uphold conservative principles, others doubled down, deciding their "superior principles" rendered them unable to support Trump.
Confused NeverTrumpers vowed to abandon their party if it meant voting Trump out of office due to his "low moral character" and "mean tweets."
It must be lonely up in that ivory tower. You know, being so high above all others that a self-proclaimed conservative is willing to vote for a socialist to get Trump out of office. Sounds more like a progressive move to me, but hey, what do I know?
