Piers Morgan: 'If the Met Gala was Islam or Jewish-themed, all hell would break loose

In a scathing new column, Piers Morgan excoriated Hollywood liberals for appropriating Christianity at this year's Met Gala.

The theme, entitled "Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Logical Deduction of the Nature of Reality," featured celebrities to the likes of Sarah Jessica Parker, Donatella Versace, Rihanna, Gigi Hadid, Kim Kardashian, and bigtime liberal George Clooney.

Each celebrity graced the red carpet in liberal smugness decked out in bejeweled suits and gowns affixed with sacrilegious crucifixes.

Piers argued Islam is always off limits for the left yet "it's absolutely fine to have a 'Catholic' theme, as we saw at last night's Met Gala."

"Christianity, it would seem, is fair game for a mocking fashion parade," he added. He also said that while he's not one for "cultural appropriation fury" the backlash a Utah teen received from American liberals for wearing a Chinese style prom dress was "utterly absurd."

"When Utah teenager Keziah Daum recently wore a Chinese style prom dress, I found the backlash that exploded against her utterly absurd given that nobody in China seemed to be remotely offended."

"But there was widespread rage towards her from PC-crazed liberals across America, and it's the inconsistent and hypocritical LACK of widespread rage from PC-crazed liberals across America about last night's Met Gala that ironically makes me angry."

Piers went as far as to call out the Pope on Twitter for sanctioning the event.
