Megadeth Front-Man Dave Mustaine: Obama Staged Aurora, Colo. Shootings to 'Pass a Gun Ban

"Back in my country, my president is trying to pass a gun ban so he's staging all these murders."

During a concert somewhere in Singapore, Dave Mustaine, the front-man of the popular heavy metal band Megadeath, said that the shootings in Aurora, Colo. were part of a sinister plot by President Obama to "pass a gun ban." Mustaine also said that Operation "Fast and Furious" and the Sikh temple shooting were part of the same plot by Obama to outlaw firearms.

"Back in my country, my president is trying to pass a gun ban so he's staging all these murders like the 'Fast and Furious' thing down at the border and Aurora, Colo., all the people that were killed there. And now, the beautiful people at the Sikh temple. God... I don't where I'm going to live if America keeps going the way it's going because it looks like it's turning into Nazi America."

Mustaine's allegation is outrageous and provably false. To be sure, he is accusing President Obama of having a hand in the cold, calculated murders of hundreds of people.

In Aurora, Colo., shooter James Holmes opened fire at a midnight screening of "The Dark Knight Rises," killing 12 people and injuring dozens more. Operation Fast and Furious, a failed federal gun-walking operation, resulted in the deaths of hundreds of Mexican citizens and U.S. Border Patrol agent Brian Terry. In Oak Creek, Wis., Wade Michael Page killed six people at a Sikh temple before taking his own life.
