Chad Prather: Your life has value, no matter the path you've taken to today

Inspirational message

Blaze TV host Chad Prather explained the importance and value of human life. Prather reminded us that we all have meaning in life, and the importance of knowing that no matter where a person has been over the years, each person plays an important role that has value.

In this clip, Prather shared a story about a former Marine he met a couple of years ago, who suffered a severe case of post-traumatic stress disorder, or PTSD, after returning home from Fallujah in Iraq.

According to Prather, this Marine decided to end his own life, and put a 9 mm pistol to his temple, and pulled the trigger. The firearm did not discharge.

Prather explained that as he got to know this man and his story, the former Marine felt encouraged to send the bullet that never fired along with a letter that expressed the following:

"I don't know why it didn't go off; maybe it's so this conversation could occur. I don't know why I held on to that round our discussion the other night. To me it's evil, it's the end of my life, but someone says otherwise. I hope, I pray that you can talk to people in the military or civilian, who are dealing with this and remind them that even I as a vet, as a combat Marine that asking for help is not a sign of weakness, but it's a sign of strength.

Even to this day, the demons still try to come; they still try to harass me. I guess I go back to quitting is not an option. Is my mind right today? Mostly. I'm still mad, still sad, missing the ones who didn't make it home so what's next? How do I honor them? To be honest, I am still trying to figure out how to live a healthy honest life."

Raising his hand, Prather held up the single round that never fired, and he explained that when the Marine picked up his phone to call his wife the day he didn't die, he happened to see a man in a cowboy hat on Facebook. The cowboy was sitting in his truck talking about life and self-worth.
