Levin salutes George Bush and Bob Dole: A 'special generation' of 'real men and women'
December 04, 2018
Tuesday evening on the radio, LevinTV host Mark Levin discussed former Sen. Bob Dole's final salute to the deceased former President George H.W. Bush as Bush lay in state in the Capitol Rotunda. The former Republican senator, presidential candidate, and fellow veteran stood with the help of an aide to pay his respects.
“I have to tell you,” Levin said, “my eyes welled up.”
Both Dole and Bush served in World War II. Dole was wounded in combat in Italy in the European theater. Former President Bush was shot down over the Pacific Ocean.
"This is a passing generation. And people who are very young today ... they're not gonna see this generation. It’s a very, very special generation,” Levin said.
“No discussion about LGB this, that, or the other. No discussion about who uses what restrooms. No discussion about safe spaces or being triggered or any of the rest of it,” Levin reflected. “These were real men and real women; I just hope we can get some of that back.”
