August 05, 2019
Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., announced Monday that he returned to the hospital recently to undergo surgery for injuries inflicted in his 2017 assault by his neighbor.
Paul tweeted that he won't be very active in August as he recovers from surgery to remove part of his lung.
In 2017, Paul was attacked by Rene Boucher, sustaining critical injuries including five rib fractures, three displaced fractures, and bruised lungs. Boucher pleaded guilty to assaulting a member of Congress.
