Waitress posts a photo of customers acting weird — and it ends up saving children from abuse

Police are astounded at what they discovered at the parents' home

A waitress is being hailed as a hero for her actions documenting the suspicious behavior she saw from a family that was visiting an Olive Garden in Kentucky.

Jordan Cooper told WPSD-6 that she didn't usually work Sundays but it likely saved two children from alleged abuse at the hands of their parents.

"I first walked around to the baby," Cooper said of the family with two kids. "She looked at me with a face that said help,"

"I can't even describe to you how bad she looked," Cooper said, "and how and why nobody noticed it."

She says that the man was acting very aggressively and force feeding one of the children.

Cooper was able to stage a photo with customers at a nearby table in order to capture the family in the background. She says they got suspicious and left soon afterward.

So she snapped another photo of their license plate.

When she got home, she posted a description of what she saw and added the photos to her Facebook account.

The post went viral and was shared more than 14,000 times.

With some detective work with the help of people online, she was able to contact police and give them enough information to investigate the matter.

After seeing the conditions at the home of Jessica Woodworth and Mark Lee Pierce, police removed the children and charged the parents with aggravated child abuse and neglect.

"I heard the conditions of the home were so horrific," Cooper told Yahoo Lifestyle, "a police officer had to collect himself outside."

Both Woodworth and Pierce are in jail on a bond of $200,000 each.

Cooper's quick thinking may have saved two children from horrendous abuse.
