On Tuesday's radio program, Glenn Beck and Stu Burguiere highlighted a video featuring Campus Reform's Cabot Phillips asking students at Marymount University in Virginia who they thought made a series of "racist" statements: former Vice President Joe Biden or President Donald Trump.
In the video, Phillips read the following quotes:
"You cannot go into a 7-11 or a Dunkin Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent. I'm not joking."
"If my opponent wins, they're going to put y'all back in chains." [Made to a largely African-American audience.]
"I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy." [In reference to President Barack Obama.]
All of the students in the video guessed that the quotes belonged to President Trump and were evidently shocked to find out they were actually all spoken by Biden.
"Wow. That's bad," said one student after finding out Biden made the remarks. "They're all pretty racist, so that's not really good."
"That's really surprising," another student said. "I've never heard any of those things before. The fact that you told me that, now I'm like, damn, is he really who he says he is?"
"I don't think that's something I want to really support," said another student.
Several students said that learning of these statements would "definitely" cause them to rethink their support for Biden.
Glenn and Stu agreed that the "bigger problem" is how easily these students changed their opinions without questioning any of the information.
"This shows why they're all Democrats, why they're all socialists, why they believe every Republican is a racist,"Stu said. "The second they hear the quote, they actually all change their minds about Joe Biden. And that's, I think, worse. I mean, you don't know the context, you have no idea what's going on. You're going to change your opinion on a man from a quote that's completely out of context, from a person you don't know, who does have an agenda? That is a huge problem. The research needs to be done."
