2 Las Vegas baccarat dealers allegedly helped players cheat, win thousands

Two Las Vegas baccarat dealers have been arrested and charged after an investigation indicated that they helped two players win on multiple occasions.

According to investigators, the accusations stem from May 2022 and two regular players at the Rampart Casino inside the luxurious JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort in Summerlin, about 10 miles west of the Strip. The two unnamed players were "winning more than usual" that month, court documents claimed, and casino officials became suspicious and contacted the Nevada Gaming Control Board.

An examination of casino surveillance footage indicated that two baccarat dealers, Yuxuan Leng and another whose name was redacted on court documents, had been revealing cards before the players had to place their final bets.

"Once the dealers revealed the gaming cards to [the two players], it provided them knowledge of the game and possible outcome," court documents said. "[The players] would then make their wager already knowing the outcome of the game."

The investigation revealed that Leng had allegedly showed cards to the players on two occasions, and the other accused dealer had allegedly done so four times. Between those six alleged incidents, the two players pocketed more than $5,000 a piece, investigators claimed.

Officials confronted the players about possible cheating. One player made a confession, admitting that he had arranged to have the dealers "show him gaming cards during his baccarat play" so that he could then bet accordingly. The second player denied participating in any kind of cheating.

The unnamed dealer denied intentionally flashing cards as well. He told investigators that though he was one of the "fastest dealers," he also was sometimes "sloppy," apparently suggesting that any premature card flashes on his part were inadvertent. Investigators never spoke to Leng about the alleged incidents.

Leng was arrested last week in connection with the allegations and faces charges of cheating and attempting or conspiring to cheat at a gambling game. She is scheduled to appear in court again sometime next month.

The other dealer was also arrested and charged with cheating. The current status of his case is unclear, WSAV reported.
