(AP) — A leading German banker who sparked outrage over remarks stereotyping Muslims and Jews is launching his new book on immigration issues amid calls for his removal from the federal bank's board.

The Bundesbank's Thilo Sarrazin has said "all Jews share the same gene" and that Muslim immigrants in Europe are unwilling or incapable of integrating into western societies.

The weekend comment sparked anger ahead of Monday's launch of his book, "Deutschland Schafft Sich Ab," or "Germany Abolishes Itself."

In it, Sarrazin maintains that immigrants have taken from Germany's welfare system without contributing to it.

Chancellor Angela Merkel has said the Bundesbank should discuss his dismissal. The Jewish and Muslim communities have also condemned his remarks.
