An Elf-sized Christmas announcement

I saw this story come across the AP wire and actually shouted out loud in excitement:

NEW YORK (AP) — The Broadway musical "Elf" will be getting into Christmas spirit a little early.

Sebastian Arcelus, who will star as Buddy, will be outside the Al Hirschfeld Theatre handing out gifts Saturday as part of a promotional event. Among the prizes will be a chance for a child to win a walk-on role in the musical.

Previews for "Elf" begin Nov. 2 and it opens on Nov. 14. The limited run ends Jan. 2.

Based on the 2003 film starring Will Ferrell, the musical also stars Amy Spanger, Mark Jacoby, Beth Leavel and George Wendt of "Cheers" as Santa.

I love Christmas. I listen to Christmas music all year long. My favorite Christmas song is "The Christmas Song" (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire) by Nat King Cole (I just turned it on while writing this post). And one of my favorite Christmas movies is, you guessed it, "Elf." Come November, then, you know where to find me.
