Women Denied Food Service At A Bar That Doesn’t Serve Food Now Claim Racial Discrimination
September 23, 2010
Two Florida women have filed a complaint with the state's Commission on Human Relations claiming they were denied lunch service at a Lake Wales bar.
That's because the bar doesn't even serve food, says the the bar's owner Kerry Winkler.
But Mildred Richardson and Ida Mae Royal are pursuing the charges, claiming they were turned away because they are black.
"We don't have a license to serve food. We don't have a skillet or a stove in this place, so we couldn't serve food if we wanted to." (h/t Reason)
