Who Threw an Egg at Rahm Emanuel?

It's not easy running for mayor of Chicago. It's also not easy writing a post about someone throwing an egg at Rahm Emanuel without succumbing to the temptation to use a lame egg-related pun. Resist.

Today he was campaigning in Chicago's Little Village neighborhood. WMAQ-TV chronicles the close call:

The unidentified egg hurler missed the former White House Chief of Staff.  Emanuel was leaving the event at the time and didn't get hit with any yolky goodness, but a cameraman in the gaggle did get hit.

And there is more bad news:

It's not a particularly good day for Emanuel, who this morning woke up to the news that the man who occupies his Northside home -- and won't move out until his lease is up -- plans to run for mayor.
