CLAY, N.Y. (AP) — A New York district attorney says a body found by searchers near Syracuse is believed to be a 20-year-old missing college student.
Onondaga County District Attorney William Fitzpatrick tells The Post-Standard that the remains haven't been positively identified, but they were consistent in age and race with Jenni-Lyn Watson. She disappeared after returning home for Thanksgiving break last week.
The search for Watson was expanded Friday, and more than 100 people were hunting through 1,200 acres for any sign of her.
Watson went missing Nov. 19, a day after arriving at her family's home north of Syracuse.
She is a junior dance major at Mercyhurst College in Erie, Pa., and is described as 5-foot-2 and 100 pounds, with dark blond hair and brown eyes.
