Tucker Carlson Walks Back His 'Mike Vick Should be Executed' Comment

"I overspoke."

Sometimes we just get a little too passionate about things and speak in hyperbole. That's how Tucker Carlson explained away his recent comment that NFL quarterback Michael Vick should be "executed" as a result of his dog fighting conviction.

Carlson made the controversial comments while filling in for Sean Hannity over the Christmas holiday. So it was only fitting that the backpedal would come as a guest on Hannity's show Monday night. But before accepting Carlson's mia culpa, Hannity had some fun at Carlson's expense.

“Tucker, I take one big vacation a year," he jokingly told Carlson. “I take two weeks off, my big vacation, and what do I have to read on the blogs? That you’re destroying the show.”

Carlson chuckled too, and eventually explained his comment by saying “this is what happens when you get too emotional," and later added, “I overspoke. I’m uncomfortable with the death penalty under any circumstances. Of course I don't think he should be executed.” They both eventually agreed they love dogs. The exchange starts at about 4:00 in the segment below:
