Manhattan Murder: Castrated Journalist Found in Times Square Hotel

"You could hear them arguing."

A Portuguese journalist was found dead inside a room of a posh New York hotel Friday evening, the New York Daily News reports.

The body of Carlos Antonio De Castro, 65, was discovered naked and lying in a pool of blood inside his 34th-floor room at the Intercontinental New York Times Square at about 7 p.m. According to police sources, the victim had suffered "massive trauma to the head and his scrotum was cut off," the Daily News notes.

The NYPD is reportedly searching for Renato Seabra, a male 20-something model who checked into the Hotel with De Castro on Dec. 29. A witness staying just two doors down from the grisly murder scene said the two had been arguing before Seabra left.

"There was a lot of noise, talking," Suzanne Divilly said. "You could hear them arguing in the corridor and even in our room. We didn't think anything of it, because it was none of our business."
