No 2012 aspirations for Rand Paul

Just months into his tenure, GOP Sen. Rand Paul filed his re-election paperwork with the Federal Election Commission today for the 2016 election. With such a strong statement that his focus is centered on serving Kentucky, this should end all speculation that the freshman senator has his sights set on the White House in 2012. Another Paul -- Rand's father, Rep. Ron Paul -- is still weighing his presidential potential and has launched a “testing the waters” fundraising committee. He's expected to announce his final decision in May.

Meanwhile, yet another Paul -- Rand's brother Robert -- is reportedly weighing a run for Senate.
