It's not every day your choice of food can get you beaten within an inch of your life. But such is the case with supposedly "moderate" Turkish residents in Berlin. News.am reports that a Turkish member of Berlin state parliament, Orjam Mutluin, was beaten by restaurant staff after performing the sacrilegious act of ordering a pork sausage during Muslim Ramadan.
Turkish Radikal reports that the incident took place in a well known Turkish restaurant Berlin.
According to the report, the MP entered the restaurant and ordered a pork sausage, but the restaurant staff scolded the MP for considering eating pork sausage during Ramadan. That's when the dispute reportedly escalated, resulting in the restaurant staff beating the MP.
Meanwhile, if pork sausage is such a taboo, why would the Turkish restaurant even offer it on the menu at all, let alone during Ramadan?
