CAIR Holds Islamic Prayers at Occupy Wall Street

"many of the demands of Occupy Wall Street parallel those of the New York Muslim community."

On Thursday The Blaze reported that the Council on American Islamic Relations' New York chapter was planning to host Friday prayers this week with Occupy Wall Street protesters in Zucotti Park.

Pictures and video are now circulating of the Jummah prayer session, which more than 300 people indicated they would attend on the  Facebook event page.

"Over the past several weeks, it has become clear that many of the demands of Occupy Wall Street parallel those of the New York Muslim community," CAIR said in an invitation on its website. "It is time for the New York Muslim community to assume its place in the fight for political and economic equality in this country, and it is vital that the youth lead the way."

Watch the video below. Notice that the men are seated in front and the women in the back, in accordance with Islamic tradition.
