See the Flying Church the Russian Military Reportedly Can Parachute Into War Zones

"The priests will undergo a week's intensive training in Russia's Ryazan region before parachuting in to areas of conflict."

The Russian military has reportedly created one of the world's most innovative churches. The unique house of worship can allegedly be parachuted into battle zones to provide worship services to military personnel. It may very well be the world first flying, parachuting church -- and with some pretty astounding amenities (not to mention paratrooper priests).

According to Russia Today (RT), these churches consist of an army tent, mini-theater, diesel power source, air conditioner and a refrigerator -- all of the elements needed to comfortably enjoy the worship process. The chapel is apparently put on the ground with an airborne platform that is typically used for heavy military equipment. RT continues:

As heated debate continues in the Russian government over rearmament and military spending, some enterprising army officials have found a way out. The airborne church is reportedly needed because there are special sacraments in the Orthodox Church that demand a substantial number of utensils.

Now, here's the real kicker. In addition to offering army personnel with a parachuting church, it seems chaplains will also be asked to take part in military training this month.

According to RT, "They will not only practice parachute jumping, but also study the construction of a platform carrying the brand new airborne church." The Sun adds, "The priests will undergo a week's intensive training in Russia's Ryazan region before parachuting in to areas of conflict."

There's no official word regarding when this alleged church project will be fully operational, but reports indicate that it may soon be ready for use.
