At a press conference on Monday, Chris Christie gave a tearful goodbye to the New Jersey Nets.
“You don’t want to stay, we don’t want you," the New Jersey governor said. "I mean, seriously, I’m not going to be in the business of begging people to stay here."
The Nets played their last game at their home stadium in Newark that evening. The team is relocating to Brooklyn.
"Good riddance. See ya later," Christie said.
No hard feelings.
