RFK Jr.'s Estranged Wife Found Dead

Mary Kennedy

Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s estranged wife, Mary Richardson Kennedy, was found dead Wednesday afternoon, according to media reports. She was 52.

TMZ was the first to report Kennedy's death in Bedford, N.Y. at Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s property, north of New York City.

The cause of death was not immediately known, though Radar Online reported it was a suicide.

An attorney confirmed to the Associated Press Mary Kennedy had died; he said he didn't know the cause of her death.

The couple were married in 1994. Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the son of the Sen. Robert F. Kennedy and nephew of President John F. Kennedy, filed for divorce in 2010.

Three days after the split, Mary Kennedy was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. She pleaded guilty, and was arrested again the following month and charged with driving under the influence of drugs, the Associated Press reported.

Mary Kennedy was Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s second wife; they had four children together.
