Did you know that Glenn Beck once sang in a....small jazz choir?

You've probably read and heard a good deal by now about the new merger of TheBlaze and GBTV (powered with the formidable punch of Markdown). A good number of news organizations have done stories about the new merger. The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, however, dug a little further than most.  The Trib profile (we call it The Trib here in Pittsburgh where I am about half of the time!) highlighted a few lesser-known nuggets about Beck:

In high school, he sang in the concert choir and a smaller jazz choir, said Allan Fox, who graduated with Beck and is pastor of Assembly of God Church in Coulee City, Wash.

He performed magic tricks with friend Bruce Wersen, who became pastor of His Place Church in Burlington, Wash. They marched in a patriotic group -- Beck carried the flag; Wersen played the drum -- and appeared in the 1976 Rose Bowl Parade.

The patriotic group was the brainchild of Beck’s parents.

You'll want to read the rest of the Trib's potent profile here.
