President Obama Cites Sandy Hook Massacre to Encourage 'Fiscal Cliff' Compromise

President Barack Obama on Wednesday urged Republican opponents to compromise with him on a budget agreement, arguing that the American people deserve as much after recent hardship.
“After what we’ve gone through over the past several months, a devastating hurricane and now one of the worse tragedies in our memory, the country deserves folks to be willing to compromise for the greater good,” the president said:
