President of the conservative Media Resaerch Center Brent Bozell and Republican political consultant Karl Rove have been in a mild war of words since the election. It continued today with Bozell telling Bloomberg News that Rove is "not going to tell conservatives what to think and not going to pick our candidates."
After the election, which Rove's Super PAC American Crossroads spent a lot of money on with very little success, Rove started a new project, The Conservative Victory Project. It's aimed at weeding out Republican candidates for federal office who Rove deems "unelectable."
Earlier this month in response to Rove's project, Bozell said Rove was "never conservative." A spokesman for Rove later called Bozell "a hater."
We've requested comment from Rove. A spokesperson said his schedule is too "full" to answer.
Rove isn't that only Republican Bozell has aimed for... In late November, Bozell wrote a letter to Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus, in which he threatened to steer conservatives away from donating to GOP causes if congressional Republicans caved on tax increases.
