"No one from New York or Washington tells me what to do."

Sen. Mark Pryor (D-Ark.) is firing back at New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg for targeting him for voting against gun control legislation.

Bloomberg's Mayors Against Illegal Guns took out a $350,000 ad buy last week to blast Pryor for his "no" vote in April.

"The mayor of New York City is running ads against me because I opposed President Obama's gun control legislation," Pryor said in his ad, his first in the 2014 campaign.

He went on to say that the legislation would not have prevented the mass shootings in Newtown, Aurora, Tucson or Jonesboro, Ark.

"I’m committed to finding real solutions to gun violence while protecting our Second Amendment rights,” he said. "I'm Mark Pryor, and I approve this message because no one from New York or Washington tells me what to do."
