"Dude, seriously, I don't want to fight with you."
Rapper Kanye West was charged on Friday with criminal battery and attempted grand theft for allegedly attacking a celebrity-gossip reporter back in July.
West, who has historically been hostile to the media, was captured on a July 19 video allegedly attacking video-reporter Danny Ramos after he asked a series of questions.
Ramos can be heard several times on video saying he does not want to engage in a physical confrontation with West, after it became obvious he angered the rapper.
"Dude, seriously, I don't want to fight with you," Ramos says, before West confronts him.
West, however, had reportedly issued a warning to the paparazzi not to speak to him.
If convicted, West, 36, faces up to six months in jail for each misdemeanor charge, Frank Mateljan, Los Angles city attorney spokesman, told the Los Angles Times.
According to TMZ, the outlet first to report the news, lawyer Gloria Allred will represent the reporter in court.
Allred reportedly said the attack left her client badly injured.
