"Parks and Recreation" star Rashida Jones has a tough message for her fellow female celebrities: "Stop acting like whores."

The pointed proclamation came when Jones, 37, took to Twitter over the weekend to chastise female performers who she believes use their bodies too provocatively. Noting that young fans are watching, she told her fellow celebrities that it's fine to be sexy, but to "leave something to the imagination."

"This week's celeb news takeaway: she who comes closest to showing the actual inside of her vagina is most popular," she wrote, adding the hashtag #stopactinglikewhores.

In subsequent tweets, Jones said she doesn't "shame" anyone for what they choose to do with their bodies, but that celebrities need to examine what is being accepted as "the norm."

Additionally, she reminded her peers in the entertainment industry that children are most certainly watching their antics.

"There is a whole generation of young women watching. Sure, be SEXY but leave something to the imagination," she continued.

Following these tough comments, Jones ended on a lighter note with a quip, calling for all men to show her some skin.

The actress' comments come amid ongoing debate over how female celebrities market themselves. Singer Miley Cyrus' provocative performance at "MTV Video Music Awards" this past summer is one of the many recent examples of sexualization that critics have decried.
