Who's the Republican Who Apparently Told Obama, 'I Cannot Even Stand to Look at You'?

"What are the chances of an honest conversation with someone who has just said something so disrespectful?"

UPDATE: The White House is denying Durbin's charge.

Sen. Dick Durbin, the second-highest Democrat in the Senate, didn't name names or specify when the meeting took place, but said it's basically impossible to have a conversation with the GOP because of the level of disrespect.

"Many Republicans searching for something to say in defense of the disastrous shutdown strategy will say President Obama just doesn't try hard enough to communicate with Republicans," the Illinois senator posted on Facebook Sunday. "But in a 'negotiation' meeting with the president, one GOP House Leader told the president: 'I cannot even stand to look at you.'"

"What are the chances of an honest conversation with someone who has just said something so disrespectful?" Durbin added.

Durbin served alongside Obama during his time in the Senate.

Neither House Speaker John Boehner's office nor the White House immediately returned a request for comment.
