While some politicians routinely tip-toe around the mainstream media's intense scrutiny of so-called "assault weapons," Texas Gov. Rick Perry unapologetically posed with a semi-automatic rifle on Friday while meeting with the president of the "world's largest supplier of firearm parts."

Perry was in Des Moines, Iowa, on Thursday speaking at the sold out Polk County GOP dinner about job creation and economic growth, something Texas has done well.
On Friday, Perry met with Pete Brownell, president of Brownells, Inc. It wasn't immediately clear what the two were discussing, but Perry has a reputation of trying to lure job creators to the state of Texas, touting the Lone Star State's favorable economic climate and reasonable business regulations.
