The Reason an Armed Robber Stayed Behind at a Crime Scene Might Bewilder You

A clumsy armed robber spent Thanksgiving day behind bars after police say he used a handgun to rob a Florida convenience store, but stayed behind at the crime scene.

22-year-old Johnny Antron Love was captured on security camera footage appearing to demand money from a Miami Gardens store clerk Thursday, as reported by WSVN-TV.

The store clerk, David Paul-Lamour, fearing for his safety, provided the man with the cash — but also said he invited Love to take some beer, hoping it would stall the crook and give police enough time to respond to the scene.

Love happily took the beer, but on his way out the bag ripped, scattering the beer bottles all over the ground. The crook then spent the next several moments attempting to gather the beer bottles.

This critical error gave authorities enough time to arrive. Love, who then attempted to flee the scene, was arrested and charged for the attempted robbery.
