February 20, 2014
The flag was discovered undamaged and left on the ground.
After police and an eyewitness reportedly spotted a man cutting down an American flag near city hall in Santa Barbara, Calif., cops nabbed the suspect two blocks from the scene of the crime, tackling and cuffing him.
While ropes holding up the flag were cut, the flag was discovered undamaged and left on the ground, reported Santa Barbara's KEYT-TV, adding that the arrest took place just after 10 p.m. Wednesday.
Police have not released details on what may have led to the flag being cut down.
